Ejercicio de rescate

Atlantic Odyssey sailors and Arrecife residents were treated to a dramatic display today of a helicopter visit, simulated rescue from a small boat and a liferaft inflation and demonstration. As well as entertainment, this was a chance for sailors to be aware of what would be involved in an emergency situation.
The afternoon’s activites were coordinated by Mr. Norberto Delgado, representative of ANAVRE Lanzarote, with the help of:

• CENTRO DE COORDINACIÓN DE SALVAMENTO DE LAS PALMAS (CCS LAS PALMAS) (Las Palmas Rescue coordination centre)
• HELICÓPTERO DE SALVAMENTO “HELIMER 210″ (rescue helicopter “Helimer 210” and the team)
• SALVAMAR “AL NAIR” (lifeboat) MARINA LANZAROTE

With the assistance of

• IMPRECASA (liferaft demonstration)
• AUTORIDAD PORTUARIA ( Las Palmas de gran canaria port authority)
• INST. POLITECNICO F.P. MARITIMO PESQUERO DE LANZAROTE (Escuela de Pesca who provided the boat and skipper from which the dummy was rescued.)
